Bee-comming a Beekeeper

Keeping a bee hive is much easier than you might think, and the sweet rewards are wonderful for you, our environment, and also our bees. Beekeeping allows the beekeeper to enjoy the rewards of tasty honey and help our environment by housing the world’s best pollinators. Also, every hive helps increase the bee population at a critical time since many hives are lost to Colony Collapse Disorder.

Beekeeping can be done by anyone and almost anywhere! It is not a labor intensive

or time consuming hobby. The best way to get started is to connect with any of the

beekeeping organizations and/or associations.

NHB is an industry-funded agricultural promotion group that works to educate consumers about the benefits and uses for honey and honey products through research, marketing and promotional programs.

Started in 1997 by a hobbyist beekeeper and became an online community for beekeepers and beekeeping in 1999. Today, beesource.com has over 14,000 registered members and is the most active online beekeeping community of its kind in the world.

Warré Hives and Add-Ons

The Home Harvest Hives allow bees to make honey with less stress because they build honey combs naturally. When bees are allowed to produce honey naturally, they are calmer and require less intervention, making it less labor intensive for beekeepers.

Our hives are perfect for beginning beekeepers who may want to keep a hive to pollinate their garden, to produce honey and to help the natural bee population survive. In addition, the Home Harvest Hives have a charming appearance with the functional peaked roof, white washed stain finish, and appealing, beneficial solid cedar wood structure.

Minimal maintenance is all that is needed, just place new add-on hive boxes as your beehive grows and harvest your honey annually at the end of Summer. Other than that, just keep an eye on your bees and enjoy the sweet rewards of your hive!
